The acoustics in duct work is just as important, if not more important than the acoustics in a room. SMACNA’s Technical Staff’s presentation on duct acoustics  will  elaborate  in  detail  the  importance  of  minimizing  noise  reduction in duct work. The presentation will include discussion topics – round  elbow  noise  reduction,  sound  power  splits,  and  lined  vs.  unlined  duct in rectangular and round. These five areas focus on providing significant natural atienuation to reduce noise levels to acceptable limits. The Technical staff will discuss the impact of sound when it travels through a duct system and how the sound of the energy is transmitted to the duct surface.
